Ukraine's president signed on June 27, 2014 in Brussels summit a historical free trade agreement.
The agreement which is strongly opposed by Russia will bind Ukraine with the EU economically and politically.
The EU signed similar agreements with Moldova and Georgia too.
Ukraine Credit Rating DowngradeFebruary 2014
The credit rating agency Moody's downgraded on January 31 , 2014 the government bond rating from previous Caa1 to Caa2 with a negative outlook.
The downgrade reflects worries about foreign liquidity problems due to the political crisis.
Standard & Poor's too downgraded on January 28 Ukraine's long term and short term currency sovereign credit rating.
New Foreign Currency RestrictionsAugust 2012
The national bank of Ukraine, NBU, issued new rules regarding purchase of foreign currency for deals with non- residents.
According to the new rules effective August 23, 2012 clients of the banks, companies and business people, are obliged to purchase their foreign currency via only one bank for each foreign agreement with non-residents.
The new rules are expected to encourage competition with banks dealing with foreign currency in Ukraine.
