
Panama Canal reopened
December 2010The Panama Canal which was closed for about 10 hours due to heavy rains and floods reopened early Thursday.
The 48 miles canal closed only twice in the past, in 1915-1916 for a few months due to landslides and in 1989 following the U.S. invasion to Panama governed by Manuel Noriega.
