The 2016 double tax treaty, DTA, between the two countries entered into force on December 8, 2017 applying in Singapore from January 1, 2018 and from July 8, 2018 in Ethiopia.
According to the DTA there is a flat 5% tax withholding for payments of dividends, interest and royalties.

Ethiopia and the U.K. signed in London on June 9 a tax treaty between the two countries.
The treaty generally follows the OECD model on exchange of information and includes, inter- alia, low tax withholding rates. 10% withholding for dividend, 5% for interest and 7.5% for royalties.
The treaty will enter into force after ratification by both countries.
